The LPN/RN will be part of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine team at Springhill Medical Center. Their primary role is to manage and direct wound care aimed at prevention of skin breakdown, caring for existing wounds and expertise in Ostomy care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. As part of the wound care team, they will assist in managing wounds, ostomy, negative pressure wound dressings and recommend proper patient support surfaces for beds. The position is for a Monday – Friday outpatient clinic and inpatient operations from 8:00-4:30 with rotating call as part of a team.   - In addition to seeing and treating patients, the employee is responsible for ordering new Wound Care supplies provide direct patient care for the initial and ongoing assessment of wounds, skin breakdown and ostomies. - Coordinates, orders and/or performs patient care for hyperbaric medicine in accordance with the guidelines and recommendations of Undersea Hyperbaric Medical Society approved indications. On Unit 3400, we provide care for a wide variety of patients.  Our unit welcomes novice nurses who are looking to build a solid skillset foundation and experienced nurses who want to advance their current nursing skills.    The majority of our patient population is cardiac patients requiring telemetry monitoring throughout their stay.  Working on a telemetry floor presents the opportunity for all nurses to learn and understand how to identify, interpret and manage cardiac rhythms, as well as receiving continuing education on cardiac treatments, medications, and cardiac drips.  In addition to cardiac patients, Unit 3400 cares for pulmonary patients (pneumonia and COPD), gastrointestinal patients (gastrointestinal bleeds, small bowel obstructions), and ICU step down patients (tracheostomy care, percutaneous endo-gastric tube management, total parenteral nutrition management, foley catheter management, wound care).
