Working on a telemetry floor presents the opportunity for all nurses to learn and understand how to identify, interpret and manage cardiac rhythms, as well as receiving continuing education on cardiac treatments, medications, and cardiac drips. In addition to cardiac patients, Telemetry I/3200 cares for pulmonary patients (pneumonia and COPD), gastrointestinal patients (gastrointestinal bleeds, small bowel obstructions), ICU step down patients (tracheostomy care, percutaneous endo-gastric tube management, total parenteral nutrition management, foley catheter management, wound care).
To facilitate the provision of patient care by performing specific nursing tasks and other support functions in compliance with hospital policy and procedures as delegated by licensed nursing personnel.
