Springhill Medical Center is a full service hospital serving southwest Alabama. Our surgical services include outpatient, inpatient, open-heart and robotic surgery. The hospital is equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment, meaning doctors have advanced technology to help them quickly determine a patient's health problem. Springhill's unique heart center offers state-of-the-art services all under one roof. The campus is also home to primary care physicians, a senior residence, sleep center, cancer center, orthopaedic surgery center, wound care & hyperbaric center, and an emergency department staffed by all board-certified emergency medicine physicians.

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

Inpatient pharmacy technician position's duties include; IV compounding, automated cabinet replenishment, order preparation, and drug distribution. Springhill Medical Center Inpatient Pharmacy supports over 200 inpatients daily, an extensive outpatient surgical department, and one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the Mobile. New employees will be trained to compound IV admixtures and learn to use Springhill's modern integrated hospital information system. Pharmacy Tech Board Certification (PTCB) is preferred. This employee will work 2 - 3 evenings per week, and every 3rd weekend.

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.
  • All employees are required to be vaccinated or provide a valid medical or religious exemption.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate
  • Current Alabama Pharmacy Technician license

Job Requirements:

  • Basic math skills required for compounding IVs
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to flex with department scheduling
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to perform moderate physical work exerting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis
