Springhill Medical Center is a full service hospital serving southwest Alabama. Our surgical services include outpatient, inpatient, open-heart and robotic surgery. The hospital is equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment, meaning doctors have advanced technology to help them quickly determine a patient's health problem. Springhill's unique heart center offers state-of-the-art services all under one roof. The campus is also home to primary care physicians, a senior residence, sleep center, cancer center, orthopaedic surgery center, wound care & hyperbaric center, and an emergency department staffed by all board-certified emergency medicine physicians.

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Telemetry I/3200 is a 27 bed unit. Working on a telemetry floor presents the opportunity for all nurses to learn and understand how to identify, interpret and manage cardiac rhythms, as well as receiving continuing education on cardiac treatments, medications, and cardiac drips. In addition to cardiac patients, Telemetry I/3200 cares for pulmonary patients (pneumonia and COPD), gastrointestinal patients (gastrointestinal bleeds, small bowel obstructions), ICU step down patients (tracheostomy care, percutaneous endo-gastric tube management, total parenteral nutrition management, foley catheter management, wound care).

 

Shift: 7am-7pm

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • We are a drug free facility. Passing a pre-employment drug screening is required.
  • All employees are required to be vaccinated or provide a valid medical or religious exemption.

Requirements:

  • Validation of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Monitor Tech Experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to complete a Monitor Tech Course.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology is preferred.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
  • Must be a good multi-tasker.
